Versailles Electro: The rave will take place in the Hall of Mirrors of the Palace of Versailles | London Evening Standard

The iconic Castle of Versailles – a symbol of opulence, decadence and gluttony – is hosting something other than a high-end fashion shoot this year: a rave.

Taking place on Saturday June 8, Versailles Électro will feature the crème de la crème of the French electro scene and will be hosted by DJ and former Daft Punk manager Busy P.

why do they do it? To celebrate his label Ed Banger Records, famous for launching the careers of some of the world’s most famous international DJs, including Justice and Mr Oizo.

In the evening, Busy P will be joined on stage by three DJs represented by his label: Breakbot x Irfane, P, Myd and So Me, who will play in one of the finest examples of Baroque and Rococo architecture in the world.

But here’s the best part: the whole thing will take place in the Hall of Mirrors that overlooks the formal gardens you see in Conde Nast’s glossy issues. Fabulous.

The organizers of the event say: “This evening out of time is part of the Versailles tradition of the first festivals of the time of the Sun King and also echoes Versailles, the cradle of French electro.

Home to French monarchs, including the famous Marie Antoinette, before the French Revolution, the Palace of Versailles is one of France’s most visited attractions, attracting over 10 million visitors a year.

Versailles Électro will take place on Saturday June 8, 2019 from 8 p.m. to midnight at the Château de Versailles. Ticket prices start from €22 and can be reserved here.
