Fans React To BTS’s Jimin Portrait On Display At The Louvre

BTS are no strangers to standout events, and this one is no exception.

During the Focus Art Fair at the Carrousel du Louvre in Paris, a portrait of Jimin from BTS was exhibited, drawing large crowds to the four-day exhibition.

The portrait was part of a collection of works by South Korean artist Lee.K, who posted videos and photos from the event on his Instagram story.

He also released a flyer advertising the event using some of his art with Jimin as his muse.

Jimin’s captivating portrait drew fans in person and online, as ARMYs marveled at the art featured in the exhibit.

“Jimin surpassed Mona Lisa at the Louvre, I can’t breathe”, an ARMY tweeted with an attached photo of a crowd of fans watching the portrait.

Others declared it “Art World Muse Park Jimin,” and many were quick to note the irony of the story of fans claiming their favorite stars belonged in museums because of their beauty, with one person saying“People joke about their fav’s place[s] in a museum and now Jimin is in the Louvre.”

Others couldn’t contain their excitement and wrote in all caps: “GUYS I JUST [SAW] JIMIN’S EXHIBITION AT THE LOUVRE AND MY GOD THE ARTIST DID A GOOD JOB!!!! JIMIN IS GLORIOUS AND IS A WORK OF ART FOR REAL.”

This isn’t BTS’ first foray into the art world.

Not only have they long been inspired by art in their music and aesthetic (see: the “Blood Sweat & Tears” music video, for example), but BTS leader RM has become a well-known patron of the art.

ARMYs have always known that RM loves art and makes it a point to stop by museums and exhibits when the band is on tour. Now, with his personal Instagram, he regularly shares photos of his artistic adventures and inspires ARMYs to explore the world of art.

Additionally, during BTS’s semi-break from group activities, RM appeared on the Art Basel podcast to discuss his growing personal collection, and was recently featured by The New York Times on his favorite pastime.

It’s unclear if Jimin himself knows about the portrait or its popularity, but the line “BTS’ Jimin is in the Louvre!” became a new ARMY bragging rights.

Lee.K wrote on Instagram, along with a photo of one of the crowds, “Thank you so much for your trust and support.”
