Panaji, June 3 (IANS): Goa Transport Minister Mauvin Godinho said on Friday that the proposed viewing gallery on the next bridge over the Zuari River in the state would be better than the Eiffel Tower in France.
“The central government has helped Goa by sanctioning Rs 25,000 crore to construct better road connectivity. The new Zuari Bridge is being constructed at a cost of Rs 2,500 crore. The iconic observation towers of this new bridge will be better than the Eiffel Tower in France, which will attract tourists,” Godinho told a press conference here.
He said Union Minister Nitin Gadkari had also spoken about the unique project in parliament, mentioning that it would be better than the Eiffel Tower in France.
Godinho said the ‘Atal Setu Bridge’ in Panaji and the Mopa airport are great examples of development work taking place in the coastal state.
“The comprehensive development of Goa is taking place under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,” Godinho said.
“Narendra Modi is a world leader. He is welcome everywhere. The Indian diaspora staying in various countries are also welcoming him,” he said, adding that the nation is in safe and strong hands.
